Cafayate, the most important settling in the Valles Calchaquies, is located at 183 km from Salta City— a destination we cannot miss during the visit to Salta.
The town is placed at 1,660 meters above the sea level and still keeps the magic of the colonial architecture, the cobbled streets, the stunning church and the friendly people.
Caves covered with paintings can be visited in San Isidro; take a walk by the River Colorado, a bicycle trip or a walk following the craftsmen’s avenue.
Cafayate is famous by the high quality wines, especially by Torrontés variety which grows under superbly conditions. There are a large number of wine cellars that can be visited for free, participating in wine tasting and getting immersed into the wine production: Bodega Etchart, La Rosa, Nanni, and Domingo Hermanos.
