As the rest of Northwest Argentina, Salta is a beautiful mix of races, customs, beliefs, and sceneries.

World-wide known by the indigenous tribes that have maintained their costumes and traditions untouched through time, immersing today’s Salta into unforgettable colors and sounds. The pre-Hispanic culture merges with the impressive scenery full of clear skies, colorful hills and pristine mountain rivers.

Salta is the perfect place to get in touch with nature by doing different outdoor activities: rafting in the Cañón del Río Juramento, or fly over it using a fantastic 3-km canopy. In this place we can enjoy mystical and relaxing horseback rides along with true gauchos from Salta, or just trek to places not only beautiful but mysterious.

Although there are hundreds of activities to choose from in Salta, we cannot leave without taking fundamental tours like El Tren a las Nubes, San Antonio de los Cobres or visiting the Calchaqui Valleys, with Cafayate as main attraction. We have to visit Salta City and get familiar with the unique colonial architecture or try the famous Salta gastronomy. The Camino del Vino (The Wine Road) is also a tour we cannot miss, a tour through all the wine cellars and vineyards that produce premium wines.

Along the road we can find surprising places, as Iruya, Cachi, the Parque Nacional Los Cardones, the Valle Encantado o the impressive Tolar Grande: these are magical spots full of natural beauty.

Once in Salta, we cannot miss the traditional celebrations and the craft fairs where fabrics, basketwork, gold and silversmithing can be found, making of Salta one of the most interesting Argentinean spots.

Other places around Salta that can be visited are Purmamarca, Tilcara, Las Yungas, and the famous Quebrada de Humahuaca.
