Be a Responsible Traveler

Before starting, take note of some advice regarding the trip, in a way that it is enjoyable for you and the others.

- Read about the place: customs, socio-economic reality, culture, weather, language, etc.

- If possible, always choose authorized restaurants and lodging.

- Si no hablas el idioma de origen, aprende al menos lo básico para comunicarte.

- Try to form small travel groups and mix with the locals if possible: by doing this your travel will be safer and you will get in touch with places not always shown in the maps.

- Be respectful with the local customs: clothing, sleeping hours, character of the neighbors, etc. Always keep in mind that after you there is another traveler that wants to be treated with the same friendliness.

- Do not litter, be respectful with life. There will be other travelers that will have to deal with your garbage. Always carry a trash bag with you, not all places have trash containers.

-Do not treat people as objects. Always talk and ask beforehand when taking a picture. At the end you will leave with more than a simple shot.

- Do not buy items that may endangered the local ecosystems, related with child abuse or products prohibited by the Health organizations. Try to buy direct from the local artisans to foster the local economy.

- Always keep in mind that you are an ambassador representing the big travelling community: your behavior can affect all travelers coming after you.
